Refund policy

We accept return requests made within 30 days after delivery.

To be eligible, an item must be unused, unburned, unwarmed, and in the same condition and original packaging in which it was received. Warmers must include every component, cord, bulb, insert, and instruction supplied with the order. A receipt or other proof of purchase is required.

Items returned without authorization may not be accepted.

Unless the item arrived damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from its listing, the customer is responsible for return shipping. Original shipping charges are not refundable. If we sent a damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different item, 1849 Mercantile will cover reasonable return-shipping costs or provide another appropriate resolution.

Damages and order issues

Please inspect your order promptly. Contact us within 7 days of delivery if an item is damaged, defective, or incorrect. Include the order number and clear photographs of the product and shipping packaging so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Fragrance-product exceptions

For product-integrity and safety reasons, candles or wickless fragrance products that have been burned, warmed, melted, or otherwise used cannot be returned unless they are defective. Personalized items, gift cards, and items marked final sale are also non-returnable. Contact us if you have a concern about a specific item.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests are accepted within 2 hours after an order is placed. After that window, production or fulfillment may have begun and cancellation is not guaranteed.

Exchanges

The fastest way to receive a different item is to request a return and, after that return is accepted, place a separate order.

European Union 14-day cooling-off period

If merchandise is shipped into the European Union, applicable law may give you the right to cancel or return the order within 14 days without justification. The item must be unused and in its original condition and packaging, with proof of purchase, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Refunds

We will notify you after the return is received and inspected. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
